a doctor will be available in the Field House and May 23 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm to take care of your physical for UIL sport’s participation. The physical will cost $30 in cash. At the time of the physical, you can take advantage of filling out your athletic packet for the upcoming year. To download Athletic packe forms, please visit the WHS Athletics page. All Middle School Athletes attending Westside next year are welcome to have your physical at this time.

Sellers will keep all assets; all that needs to be paid for is the spot!
Note: You can also donate $10 at the end of the day for us to deliver all left items to the Goodwill complex if you would like.

Summer is the time of year when our outstanding Westside athletes and coaches share their know-how with up and coming players. Please pass this information on to parents and friends who may have young athletes who are interested in joining one of our camps. If you don’t see the sport you are interested in here, don’t worry. We’ll keep the ABC website updated with any new information that comes in.
The Westside High School Baseball Camp will be held from June 10-June 13 and from June 17-June 20 from 9:00 AM to 12PM at Westside High School. All players attending camp will receive a t-shirt and certificate of participation at the end of camp. For more information click here.
Boys Soccer Summer Camps: June 10-13 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The location is Westside HS soccer field. Only a few spots left so sign-up soon! For more information please contact sbrown14@houstonisd.org or call 281.787.0928.
The Lady Wolves Softball Camp will be held June 10-13 from 8am-11am at the MAGSA softball complex. This is a basic skills camp that will work on skills such as hitting, fielding, and throwing. This summer the annual Lacrosse Stick Clinics will return offering an opportunity for new players to learn the game as well as experienced players to improve their skills. The Stick Clinics will start on June 18 on the Lacrosse practice field and will run from 6 pm to 8 pm through July. Congratulations Westside Lacrosse!
Junior Dylan Lemmon and Seniors Tony Nguyen, Mitch Oppenheim and Dylan Hanner represented the Westside Wolves at the District II THSLL All Star Game Saturday May 11 at 2:00 pm at Langham Creek High School. Lemmon and Hanner led the Westside on Attack and led the team in goals and assists. Nguyen starred on Midfield for the Wolves and led the team in ground balls in addition to being the top Midfielder in scoring and a shutdown defender. Oppenheim anchored the Wolves defense and led all defenders in ground balls and takeaways.
The Wolves Varsity finished the season with 10 wins and 5 losses and for their second consecutive winning season and narrowly missed a playoff berth. The JV team also posted a 10-5 record in their second full season of existence.

Exciting News from Westside’s ABC General Membership Meeting
The ABC General Membership Meeting was held on Wed. April 17th. For those of you who were able to make it with your busy schedules it was greatly appreciated. If you couldn’t make it, you missed some exciting news. ABC has had a banner year this year! Your Westside ABC was able to help the coaches raise over $10,000 that went into their individual sports programs from the Fall Fundraiser Gift Wrap Sale. Then, the ABC was able to raise over $25,000 for the General Fund through your membership, corporate & family sponsorships, and the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament. This brought the General Fund balance to over $37,000. With such a healthy balance, it was time to go to the coaches and request a “Wish List” of items to enhance their programs. ABC is pleased to announce the purchase of the following items for over $25,000:
- Football Goal Posts
- Softball Pitching Machine
- Volleyball Spiking Machine
- Wrestling Storage Container
- Baseball Additional Fencing that will allow Playoff Games to be held at Westside
- Team Bags for the Golf Team
- Boys/Girls Soccer Goals
- Girls/Boys Basketball “The Gun”
This is exactly what the newly reformed Westside ABC is all about — raising and spending money on Westside’s Athletes! Whether it’s through field and facility maintenance, first aid supplies, scholarships, or “Wish List” items, the ABC is here to support the coaches, their athletes, and their programs.
At the meeting, the 2013 – 2014 Slate of Officers was voted on favorably as well. They are:

- VP Paw Prints – Kim Truman & Stewart Krosby
- Recording Secretary – Shantra Wilson
The ABC still is seeking board members for Treasurer, VP Fall Fundraiser, and VP Golf Tournament because we want to keep this momentum going! The Board meets once a month, off campus, to plan fundraisers, discuss issues, policies, and funding regarding the sports programs at Westside, and to find ways to creatively engage the community in our sports.
